District Level Kickboxing Champions – Chintamanrao Commerce Junior College Shines!

We are delighted to share that our students, Miss Kanak Nirlagi and Master Anugrah Bhokare, secured First Position in their respective categories at the District Level Kickboxing Competition held on 5th October at Taluka Krida Sankul, Miraj.

Their outstanding performance has earned them selection for the Kolhapur Divisional Level Competition. We extend our heartiest congratulations to both of them and wish them great success in the upcoming rounds.

Golden Glory for Fergusson College at the 16th Asian Youth Shooting Championship! 

We are immensely proud to announce that Miss Shambhavi Shravan Kshirsagar, a student of the Arts stream, Junior College, Fergusson College, has achieved a remarkable feat at the 16th Asian Youth Shooting Championship held in Kazakhstan.

With a record-breaking score of 633.7 in the 10m Air Rifle category, Shambhavi clinched two Gold Medals in the Team and Mixed events.

This extraordinary achievement has brought immense pride not only to Fergusson College but also to Maharashtra and the nation. Shambhavi’s success stands as a shining example of hard work, discipline, and determination, inspiring students and young achievers across the country.

Proud Moment for Fergusson: UPSC Topper Shivansh Jagade (AIR 26)
We are extremely proud to share that Shivansh Subhash Jagade, an alumnus of DES's Fergusson College, Pune, has secured All India Rank 26 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 — and that too, in his very first attempt at the age of 22!
 
Hailing from Rule village near Panshet, Shivansh comes from a humble background — his father is a farmer and his mother is a seamstress. He completed his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Fergusson College in 2023. Inspired by the subject and his mentors at Fergusson, he chose Mathematics as his optional subject in the exam. Without any coaching classes, Shivansh studied with utmost discipline and perseverance using online resources, dedicating nearly 14–15 hours daily towards his preparation. His journey is a true reflection of hard work, consistency, and self-belief.
 
Shivansh's success is not just a personal achievement — it’s a proud moment for Fergusson College and an inspiration for youth across the nation. He now embarks on his journey as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, determined to work for justice, equity, and inclusive development.
Sejal Manohar won silver at the 38th National Games in the Water Polo Championship

Deccan Education Society, Pune University, is proud to celebrate the incredible achievement of Sejal Manohar, who has won a silver medal at the 38th National Games in Water Polo Championship held in Uttarakhand!

Sejal’s journey in the sport continues to be an inspiring one. Having secured a bronze medal last semester, she returned stronger, displaying remarkable skill, teamwork, and determination to help Team Maharashtra reach the finals and secure the silver medal. Her relentless dedication and perseverance are truly commendable. This achievement is a testament to her hard work, resilience, and passion for excellence in sports. BMCC's Bhavika Adsule Shines as First Runner-up at Maharashtra Times Shravan Queen 2024

We are incredibly proud to announce that Bhavika Adsule, a gifted and dynamic student of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC), has achieved the prestigious title of First Runner-up at the Maharashtra Times Shravan Queen competition 2024!This incredible platform allows young Marathi women to demonstrate their talent, grace, beauty, and intellect, and Bhavika has made us immensely proud by excelling in all of these areas. DES's Fergusson College Alumnus Aaron D'Souza Earns BAFTA Student Awards Nomination for "Carolyn"

Aaron D'Souza, an alumnus of Fergusson College's Department of Media and Communication (B. Voc), has achieved a remarkable feat with his short film "Carolyn" being nominated for the prestigious British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) in the UGO BAFTA Student Awards. After completing his undergraduate studies here, Aaron pursued a master's degree in film editing at the American Film Institute. As part of his coursework, he edited "Carolyn," which was selected from 800 submissions across 37 countries and will now compete in the "Live Action" category. The winners will be announced on July 12. Fergusson College is proud of Aaron's outstanding accomplishment and wishes him continued success.

Aaron's journey serves as an inspiration to current students and underscores the global opportunities that can arise from a solid educational foundation. Fergusson College annual magazine MADHYAM is awarded Third rank by Savitribai Phule Pune University today

We are proud to announce that DES's Fergusson College's annual magazine, Madhyam, has been awarded Third Prize by the Student's Welfare Section of Savitribai Phule Pune University for the 2020-21 issue. Madhyam is a prestigious publication showcasing the academic achievements, creative writing, and artistic expressions of our students and staff in six languages: Marathi, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, French, and German. It also highlights departmental reports, activities, and achievements from various departments and support services, presenting a comprehensive profile of college. BMCC Student Richa Chordia Shines at All-India University Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition

DES's BMCC student, Richa Chordia, pursuing M.Com II, recently participated in the All-India University Rhythmic Gymnastics competition held in Amritsar from March 18th to 23rd. We are proud to announce that Richa showcased exceptional talent and secured 1 Gold and 1 Silver medal, outshining competitors from all corners of the nation.

This remarkable achievement not only highlights Richa's dedication and hard work but also serves as a testament to BMCC's commitment to nurturing excellence not just in academics, but also in sports. Richa Chordia, an accomplished student pursuing her M. Com. Part II at BMCC, made the nation proud by securing an impressive achievement in Rhythmic Gymnastics.Her exceptional talent and dedication to the sport were brilliantly showcased as she triumphed, earning 1 Gold and 2 Bronze medals, at the 37th National Games in Goa.
